Monkey Puzzle Tunbridge Wells is located at 32-34, St Johns Road, Tunbridge Wells. Our nursery is close to the A26 and only a short drive from Tunbridge Wells train station, making us perfect for families working in the local area or commuting to the town centre.
Our friendly and supportive management and team provide a family feel and a home from home approach to childcare focusing on lots of love, nurture and care as priorities alongside our child centred curriculum.
We are proud of creating lots of bright, beautiful and exciting spaces for the children to play and explore providing the highest quality childcare to children aged from 3 months to 5 years.
We take great pride in being part of the vibrant town of Tunbridge Wells and are looking forward to extending and creating further links within the local community with Primary schools and additional services to further support our families with local exciting opportunities.
We are part of an award-winning nursery group, offering high quality childcare in our specially equipped nursery for children aged three months to five years old.
Adding to this, we tailor our care to suit your child’s age. We achieve this by placing children into the following age categories: babies aged three to twelve months, toddlers from 12 to 24 months & toddlers aged 24 months to 36 months, and lastly preschool aged three to five years. Due to our rooms being equipped especially for these ages, we are able to provide that home-from-home feel.
We are very lucky to have extensive outdoor spaces in the nursery and a separate area for both babies and the older children to play and explore. Our outdoor environment offers a rich multi-sensory environment that is full of fun, stimulating and motivating activities for the children and we have specifically created indoor garden areas so all the children are able to enjoy the outdoors all year round.

⚠️RISK TAKING⚠️
Allowing children to risk take is crucial for their physical, personal and self confidence skills as the children learn their own abilities and boundaries.
The children in our discoverers room were encouraged to test their own skills by slowly walking across the table, stepping slowly at their own pace with adult support, and were given a teachers hand to jump off at the end! Setting up activities like this allow the children to have freedom, think outside the box and further enhance their physical development skills!🐵💛
Risk taking activities can be simple to set up with a little creativity, why not try something similar at home to encourage your child’s development?🏠

🔮Sensory room🔮
Some of you may remember we opened our sensory room last year, with the aim being to provide an additional space for the children to play, explore and having some calming time.
Our space is set up with different provocations to play, sensory toys and opportunities to explore the varying senses, such as having different scents available. The children use this space to explore their emotions, regulate their feelings and relax amongst a small group of peers. 🧘

📢We have 2 superstars to shout out this week📢
Firstly we would like to congratulate Bethan, one of our bank team members on being with us for 2 years! Bethan balances her time between MPTW, and studying away at university. The team and children are always so happy to see Bethan, and she is such a positive and happy person, who is always happy to support where needed!💛
Secondly, we are celebrating Sarah F’s 2 year anniversary. Sarah is based in our pre-school room as our deputy room leader, supporting the smooth running of the classroom, ensuring the children are consistently engaged and learning. Sarah supports her team to be the best they can be, and is always happy to help, especially when it comes to flat pack furniture!🔨🛠️

🎓A few photos from our graduation, we are so proud of all of our pre-schoolers as they prepare for their upcoming transition to primary school. To celebrate finishing Nursery, we host a graduation ceremony for the children, giving them a chance to dress up in a cap and gown, and to receive a certificate in front of their family and friends! 🎓

🥳Party time!🥳
On Saturday we held our annual family BBQ🌭, despite the weather not being on our side we all managed to have a brilliant time! We had live music from Not King Cole, biscuit decorating, glitter tattoos, face painting, hair styling, hook a duck🦆 and Sing With Ellie 🎸. Ros and Emma did an amazing job cooking the delicious BBQ food in the rain! We hope you all had as much fun as we did😊

🐶We recently had India, a therapy dog come to visit our Nursery!🐶
After researching the benefits of a therapy dog, we wanted to introduce India to our children to support them with their self regulation, emotional development and also to teach the children about kindness and gentle hands!
Therapy dogs can be very therapeutic for all children including those with additional needs. India went round our rooms and met our children who were very excited! The children were very calm around India, enjoying stroking her and asking questions.

✨Today was our second walk down to Magic Space however this time was some of our investigators turn!✨
✨We enjoyed exploring the different projected images, taking turns to “splat” the difference faces and name all the different colours and shapes we could see! The exhibition is here until September, so do pop in if you have time!✨
After we explored the amazing sensory space, we had time for a story in the cosy library area!📚

🚨FIRST AID TRAINING🚨
🚑As the children’s interests surrounding the emergency services continue to grow, the children wanted to learn more about how to help others and make them feel better!
Sarah F demonstrated to the children the recovery position, explaining when we would use this and why. The children then got to work placing a peer into the recovery position very carefully.
At MPTW, our aim is for our children to consistently grow, develop and engage with active learning on a daily basis.
